Mrs. Hisako Kuramoto Teruya passed away peacefully in her Huntsville home on Monday, at the age of 87. She was a woman of great energy, passion and love for her family. These traits were passed down and modeled to her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a wonderful Mother and a fun and fabulous Grandmother.
Both Hisako and her late husband Richard were avid volunteers and supporters of the Huntsville Botanical Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Teruya and their son Neal Teruya.
She is survived by Neal’s wife, Mary Lu and their children, Paul Teruya and his wife Rachel and daughter Abby, Peter Teruya and his wife Allison and Beth Teruya. She is also survived by her son Dale Teruya and his wife Mary Ann and their children Richard Teruya and Anna Hisako Teruya.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville. A memorial service and burial will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at a time to be announced later.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens.
