Hettie A. Cook – Obituary

Hettie A. Cook, age 75, a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 5PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Ledbetter officiating. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 4-5PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born on December 25, 1941 in Judsonia, Arkansas, Hettie was the daughter of the late Hugh Gibson and the late Josephine Sutterfield Gibson. Besides her work as a house wife, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, and making popcorn. She also loved dancing and shopping.

 

She is survived by her children: Jerri Lynn (Craig P.) Roussell of Columbia, Brian Kerr (Lisa Wilson) of Columbia; grandchildren: Scott Roussell of Columbia, Nick Roussell of Columbia, Brian Kerr, Jr. of Columbia, Candace Kerr of Knoxville, Cody Kerr of Columbia; great grandson: William Levi Kerr of Columbia; siblings: Brenda (Kenneth) Bridges of Columbia, Beverly (Gilberto) Caudillo of Columbia, Debbie (Jim) Brittingham of Spring Hill; and daughters-in-law: Linda Kerr and Jowanda Kerr.

 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Eugene Cook on June 6, 2016; son: Kevin Kerr; and brother: Richard H. Gibson.
