Hess Stanley Fridley, of Scottsboro, died Monday at the age of 75. Born August 12,1940 in Birmingham, Hess attended West End High School and The University of Montevallo. He served in the United States Marine Corps. On October 23, 1971, he married the love of his life, Kathy Osborne. Devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend. Hess will be dearly missed. He was known as the fascinating guy to his family and friends. He was a positive influence that brought a story and a smile to everyone he met. To his grandchildren he was known as “Tick” who could do anything. He was a member of St. William Catholic Church. Hess enjoyed life and loved arrowhead hunting, fishing, watching baseball and playing cards. Hess is preceded in death by his parents Hesse Randolph Fridley and Cornelia Mahan Fridley. He is survived by his wife Kathy; two children; Hess Stanley Fridley II (Jennifer), and Marcus Osborne Fridley (Jill); three grandchildren, Hess Stanley Fridley III, Alexander Howard Fridley and Jacob Grantham Fridley; two brothers John Fridley (Tracy) and Fritz Fridley (Lynne) and one sister Nita Furlong (Dan).
Services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1460 Pearson Avenue Southwest, Birmingham, Alabama on Friday, October 2nd at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Marshall County, Shepherd’s Cove. The Fridley family would like to extend their gratitude for the exceptional care received from Hospice of Marshall County.
