Hershel was a member of the Pleasant Grove Free Holiness Church receiving salvation in 1965. He retired from the Jackson County School system after 26 years of driving the Pleasant Grove Bus Route. He also drove the Tech School bus and drove the athletes to all the ball games. He was respected by all his kids and felt they were all his. He loved it when they said, “Crank the Bus Mr. Hershel” He spoke of those times often.
He was a farmer all of his life from a little boy to just a few years ago. He was a dedicated husband to Josephine for 67 years and was a loving father to his 3 children and his family. He will be greatly missed by all of his family, close relatives, and many friends.
