Marvin Farrow, age 97, of New Market, Alabama passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and lla Farrow, brother and sister-in-law Lloyd and Rosie Farrow, and his beloved wife of 32 years, Hesta K Farrow.
Hershal is survived by his sister, Jean Johnson Smith (Jim); children Roger Farrow of Vancouver, WA, Elizabeth Farrow (Hobie Buffington) of Wilmington, NC, Julia Farrow Clutts of New Market, AL, John Farrow (Dana) of Edmond, OK, Ellen Hunter (Bill) of Chapel Hill, NC; grandchildren Shawn Clutts (Shelby), Bryan Farrow, Bryan Hunter (Amy), Adam Hunter (Kristin); great grandchildren Tyler Farrow, Hannah Hunter, and Walter Henry.
After graduating from New Market High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and completed three tours of duty in Japan over ten years. Upon leaving the service he completed courses at the University of Alabama and went to work in 1957 for the Army Ballistic Missile Agency which later became NASA. He retired from there after 35 years of civil service in 1982.
In 1985 Hershal married his high school sweetheart and they moved back to New Market to build their retirement home. His hobbies included bass fishing, gardening and wood working. He was a member of New Market Presbyterian Church.
Visitation for Hershal will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM to12:30 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home followed by a celebration of life service at 1:00PM with Deacon Ted Dixie officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Garden
