Mr. Herman Lewis Montgomery, 85, of Florence passed away on November 19, 2015 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. Herman began school in the first grade at Cypress Inn TN after moving to Lutts, TN. He finished high school at Collinwood High School in Collinwood, TN. After high school he attended Andrew Business College in Nashville, TN with a degree in business. He did a tour of duty in the United States Army serving in the Korean War stationed in Germany and France. After service, he returned to Florence to live. He worked at Southern Fabricating in Sheffield, AL. Later, he was employed by TVA for 31 years.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 12 Noon – 1:00 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Greg Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Montgomery; father, Albert Montgomery; mother, Mary Irene Stricklin Montgomery Berry and his sister, Viva Ruth Warrington.
Survivors include his brother, Donald Montgomery (Cora Lou); step-son, Dale Holbrook, stepdaughter, Donna Wagnon (Johnny) and Glenda Abbott; several step grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Kenneth Warrington, Johnathan Warrington, Jimmy Franks, Jody Franks, Logan Price and Johnny Wagnon will be serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Holbrook and James Barrett.
