Herman Ellis Sumner, 80, of Burnwell, Alabama passed away on August 8, 2023.
Herman worked at Election Systems and Software for 40 years before retiring, he was a book binder. He enjoyed watching Alabama football, being outside to feed and watch his birds, and loved enjoying family gatherings and homecooked meals. Herman loved his family and friends dearly, but most of all loved God. Herman was a godly man that would spread love and laughter everywhere he went.
Herman is preceded in death by his parents, John and Stella Sumner and 11 brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish Herman’s memory include his wife of 59 years, Alice; daughters, Sherrie (Kenneth) Tubbs and Nancy (Scott) Rice; grandchildren, Stephanie (Brian) Butler, Amber Tubbs, and Tyler (Jessika) Rice; great grandchildren, Sadie Grace and Emma Kate Butler; as well as a host of extended friends and family.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Burnwell Bible Church of God beginning at 11:00am with Rev. Ray Jackson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00. Burial will follow at Brasfield Cemetery.
