Herbert Wayne Holcomb, age 79, of Hackleburg and Morris, Alabama, passed away March 5, 2024.
A friend to all who crossed his path, Wayne was a kind and compassionate person with a heart of gold. Eternally positive and a lover of plants and nature, and with a natural talent in the kitchen. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as much as possible. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Cynthia Davis-Holcomb, and his greatest joy was spending time with her.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 18 years, Cynthia Davis-Holcomb, parents, Clyde and Lorene Holcomb; and brother, Donald Holcomb. He is survived by his brother, Dr. Robert Holcomb (Ellen); sister, Jean Jones (John); nephews, Barry, Larry, and David Holcomb, Roy and Douglas Jones, Andrew Holcomb; nieces, Heidi Hislope and Apryl Davis; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Randy and Sue Davis; as well as a host of great nieces and nephews.
Wayne’s family would like to offer special thanks to Wayne’s caretakers Queen, Britny, Marthea, and Eric, whose continuous care greatly cheered and comforted Wayne in his final months.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm, with service to follow at 2:00 pm at Marion County Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama on Saturday, on March 9, 2024.
