Herbert Donald “Don” Alexander, 86, of Carbon Hill, transitioned into heaven on Monday, May 29, 2023.
Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 2:30 until 4 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 4 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Carbon Hill Memorial Cemetery. Ron Wilson will officiate.
Don was born April 14, 1937, in Wolf Creek, AL. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was well known in the Carbon Hill area as Don’s TV for numerous years. Don was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many. He will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Alexander; granddaughter, Brittnay Starns; parents, Murry Austin Alexander and Flora Alexander; brothers, Lewis, Frank, Quinton, James and Grady Alexander.
He is survived by his children, Herbert Donald Alexander Jr. (Jenny); Leslie Hiller (Keith), Doug Alexander (Falon) and Darren Alexander ( Karrie); grandchildren, Amy Johnston (Sam), Meghan Alexander, Luke Alexander, Avery Alexander, Dalton Alexander (Hannah), Alexis Alexander and Kallie Alexander; great grandchild, Deonte Scott; brother, Vernon Alexander (Roslyn); sister, Delois Romine; special friend, Shirley Lollar and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
