Herbert Dennon Alsup passed away peacefully at NHC in Pulaski, TN on October 24th, 2024. He was born in Minor Hill, TN on March 15th, 1932 and was 92 years old.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He was a member of East Hill Church of Christ. Mr. Alsup was in the women’s clothing business for many decades. He was the owner of Amy Beth’s Fashions on the square during the 70’s and 80’s. He later ran a clothing route in Middle Tennessee and North Alabama as the “Van Man”. Mr. Alsup loved anything Tennessee Vols and Giles County Football.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 28th, 2024 from 11:00 to 1:00pm in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
Funeral Service will follow at 1:00pm in the chapel with Bro. Paul Sain officiating.
Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask memorial donations be made to C.W. Heart Scholarship fund c/o East Hill Church of Christ, 509 E Madison St. Pulaski, TN 38478 or Giles County Football Program.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Osteen and Dezzie Alsup, Sister, Geneva Gaston Brooks and Eva Will Alsup, Brothers, JW Alsup and Loyd Daniel Alsup, and Grandson, Jonathan Lee Alsup II.
He is survived by,
Wife, Linda Joye Alsup of Pulaski, TN
Son, Jon Alsup (Michelle) of Columbia, TN
Daughters, Amy (Jon) Liddie of Alabama
Beth (Jay) Hosay of Brentwood, TN
Sister, Delores Willoughby of Smyrna, TN
7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
