Herbert Curtis Mitchell Herbert Curtis Mitchell, age 67 of Fort Payne, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024. He was born on March 20, 1957 in Fort Payne to the late Herbert C. & Margaret Culpepper Mitchell.
He was a 1975 graduate of Fort Payne High School. After high school he worked for the City of Fort Payne for a brief time. He then worked for Kingsberry Homes where he became a certified tile setter. After working at Kingsberry Home he became an Assistant Manager for KFC in the early 80’s. He retired as a master tile craftsman after many years in the carpentry business. He also worked as a disaster responder for natural disasters.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. hour of service.
He is survived by his daughter, Misty Mitchell; brothers & sisters-in-law, Mike Mitchell (Eva Richardson), David Mitchell (Theresa) and Steve Mitchell (Michelle); sister & brother-in-law, Cynthia Biddle (Dale); aunts, Linda McCurdy and Elvie Mitchell; significant other, Vicki Golden; and several nieces, nephews and cousins who he dearly loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Angela Mitchell.
