Herbert Cary Stapler, 81, of Union Hill, Alabama left this earthly home on March 9, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. He was born June 9, 1942 in Madison County Alabama. He was the son of Earnest and Eleanor Stapler. He retired as a machinist from Parker Industries.
Cary was an outdoorsman and loved fishing – it didn’t matter what species. His happiest moments were with his family fishing on the Tennessee River or Guntersville Lake. He was an avid NASCAR fan and gave unwavering support for Dale Earnhardt. He also enjoyed the classics and could be caught watching every Everyone Loves Raymond episode. You could also catch Cary at the morning breakfasts with his fellow retired friends. But most of all, Cary loved his family and would travel near and far watching his son race or his grandchildren at sporting events or barrel racing.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Beverly Stapler; son, Chris Stapler (Shamone); step-daughter, Kristy Benefield (Brent); Grandchildren, Josh Benefield (Rachel), Amberly Stapler, Nick Lang, Sydney Lang (Shelby), Ellie Benefield; Great grandchildren, Hudson Lang, Olivia Lang, Audrey Benefield, Reagan Benefield; Sisters, Tula Bramlett (Danny), Sue Owens, Wanda Wilson, Brother, Calvin Stapler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Eleanor Stapler; Brothers, Glenn Stapler, Lacey Stapler.
Visitation will be at Brindlee Mountain Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, March 12 from 6:00-8:00. The funeral services will be Wednesday, March 13, at 2:00. Burial will be in Fields Cemetery. Brother Brian Mosley will be officiating. Pallbearers are Sydney Lang, Noah Stapler, Mike Howton, Breck Bramlett, Keith Wilson, and Keith Gosssett.
