Henry Thomas “Jack” Jackson

  Henry Thomas “Jack” Jackson, age 96, of Huntsville, Alabama, went to be with our Lord Jesus on November 20, 2021.

“Jack” , as he was known by some, was a well-known and self-taught auto mechanic and steel guitar musician. He was born and grew up most of his life in the “Old Mill” community of West Huntsville. He was on the Sonny Sims Morning Show playing the steel guitar and he also played with several country music bands over the years and some referred to him as the “Silver Fox” on the steel guitar.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Jane Jackson, three sons: Freddy Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, and Ricky Jackson; two grandchildren: Gerrell “Ray” Jackson and Nicki Faye Penn, his “Ma” May Bell Young,: his parents, two brothers, a son-in-law, and several brother and sister-in-laws; several nieces and nephews.

He is survived by seven of his children: Randy Jackson (Kathy), Debra Spell, Janie Jackson, Jack Jackson (Tammy), Susan Stone (Jeff), Ronny Jackson, and Patsy Jackson; 24 Grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, his brother, Glen Cowart (Betty), his two sisters, Faye Clutts and Edna Wagenstein, and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers you may make donations to Caring for Life Hospice Family Care.

Special thanks to Jack and Tammy Jackson and Susan and Jeff Stone for their years of dedication and support to Daddy. We all really appreciate and thank you.

Service for Mr. Jackson will be Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Hampton Cove Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Ford officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12 to 2 pm. Burial will be in Hampton Cove Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Michael Stone, Kevin Jackson, Chris Jackson, David Jackson, Steve Jackson, and Dustin Jackson.
