Henry Lavell Hawkins, age 78, of Hackleburg, Alabama, passed away Sunday, May 25th, 2014, at his residence.
Visitation, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 28th, 2014, at the Hackleburg Community Church. Funeral service, 6:30 p.m., following visitation, at the church. Burial 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 30th, 2014, in McCurtain’s Creek Cemetery, Tomnolen, Mississippi. Pallbearers, Greg Stidham, Joey Stults, Dustin Atkins, Josh Weatherly, Floyd Baker, and Chantry Hagood.
Mr. Hawkins was born October 20th, 1935, in Tomnolen, Mississippi, to the late James Charley and Thelma Biggers Hawkins.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia Montijo Hawkins; 1 daughter, Elizabeth Anne Knowles; son-in-law, Bishop Clint Knowles, Jr.; 2 grandsons, Gabriel Wynn Knowles, and Michael Ashton Knowles; 1 granddaughter, Elizabeth Brianna Knowles; 1 sister, Elizabeth O’Neal; brother-in-law, Hank O’Neal; 1 brother, Charles G. Hawkins; sister-in-law, Shirley Hawkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Charley and Thelma Biggers Hawkins.
