Retired United States Army MSgt. Henry James “Goat” Gautreaux, age 71, Haleyville, AL. passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024. He retired from the United States Army, at the rank of MSGT., having served during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm, he was awarded numerous Decorations, Medals, Badges, Citations and Campaign Ribbons during his career in the United States Army. Henry was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Haleyville, AL.
Visitation will be Monday, August 26, 2024 from 12:00NOON – 1:00PM at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL. Funeral service at 1:00PM in the chapel, with Dr. Ron Horton officiating. Burial to follow in New Prospect Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Darlene Kelley Gautreaux; son, Jason Scott Gautreaux; daughter, Jennifer Garrard (Aric); grandchildren, Tavina Yoff, Samantha Clark, SSgt. Frederick Markham (Jacqualynn), Brayden Garrard, Hannah Garrard and Becca Gautreaux; great grandchildren, Jeremiah and Landon; brother, Wilson Gautreaux; a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Peter Gautreaux and Agnes Leger Gautreaux; sisters, Sandra Lee O’Connor and Susan Villejoin; brother, Randall Gautreaux; son, Matthew Ryan Gautreaux; daughter in law, Robin Gautreaux.
