Funeral services for Mr. Henry Douglas Thrower, age 84 of Goodwater, will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Pastor Russell Delee officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Thrower passed away on January 19, 2024 at his home. He was born in Tallapoosa County and lived in the area all his life. Most of his working life Doug drove a semi-truck. Doug loved a good story and always had one to tell. He loved fishing and spending time with his grandsons.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Barnett(Matthew Trapp) of Goodwater and daughter-in-law, Leeann Thrower of Goodwater; grandsons, Kevin Barnett(Shannon Bolan) and Jamie Thrower(Kinsey); two great grandsons, Waylon Barnett and Brently Robinson; two sisters, Dorothy Horn and Faye Cox; sister-in-law, Gaynell Robinson; other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris L. Thrower and son, Steve Thrower.
Active pallbearers will be Kevin Barnett, Jamie Thrower, Shun Griffin, Jimmy Wayne Horn, James Gardner and Lyndoll Askew.
His visitation will take place on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
