Henry D. “Don” Nix Henry ,Don Nix age 93 of Detroit, AL passed away Saturday, May 04, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Marion Co., AL on Friday, December 17, 1919 to Ulem and Era Goggans Nix. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 05, 2013, 12:30-2:00 pm at the Marion County Funeral Home. The service will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 06, 2013 at the Marion County Funeral Home with burial in Smyrna Cemetery. Rev. Eddie Davidson and Rev. Mike Franklin will officiate. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Flora Mae McKay Nix; parents, Ulem and Era Nix; brothers, Burl Nix, Doyle Nix; sisters, Myrtle Herring and Ann Stone. He leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Louie Burl (Elizabeth) Nix, Larry Don (Jennifer) Nix; grandchildren, Steve (Lisa) Nix, Rena (Rodney) Watson, Amy (Lee) Mobley, Conner Nix, Kim Alldredge, Nikki Nix, Patrick Nix; great grandchildren, Danielle, Tanner, Ashley, Hayden, Katie, Gabriella; sister, Gerald (Ray) Jerrard and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Marion County Funeral Home assisted the family.
