Henry Curtis Looney, 87, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016. Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. to noon at Colbert Memorial Chapel with services to follow in the chapel at noon. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Mark Mayfield will be officiating.
His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He loved Alabama football, and in his younger years he enjoyed playing tennis, traveling, swimming, teaching Sunday school, and good conversation.
He was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Exie Looney; sisters, Hazel Vandiver and Rachel Morgan; and infant son.
Survivors are wife, Doris Looney, of Leighton, Alabama; daughter, Deborah McCormack Toczylowski (Edward), of Gallatin, Tennessee; brother, Andrew Jack Looney ”AJ,” of Leighton, Alabama; grandchildren, Emily Borden (Charlie) and Kurt McCormack (Leigh); and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Allen Morgan, Dudley Vandiver, Douglas Vandiver, Kurt McCormack, Charlie Borden, and Jimmy Looney. Honorary pallbearers are Cole Borden and Nick Borden.
