Henry Clyde Hargett Henry Clyde Hargett, age 96, of Russellville, upgraded to his heavenly home on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Henry Clyde was a wonderful Christian, an amazing banjo picker, and no doubt the best pawpaw there has ever been.  He loved to meet new people whether that be at Jack’s, church, or a bluegrass festival.  He really never met a stranger.  He was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of 87.  He was employed at TVA where he was a sheet metal worker for over 35 years.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Addie Lee Hargett; daughter-in-law, Lisa Hargett; brothers, Kermit Hargett, Gordon Hargett, Reid Hargett; sisters, Gaynell Gebhart and Mildred Giddy.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Ronnie Hargett; grand-daughters, Kristi Daniel (Scott), Rosalyn Smith (Zach); great-grandchildren, Justin Rose (Sarah), Brittney Burgett, Bailey Renfroe (Wil), Adaline Smith, Remington Smith, Aniston Smith; great-great-grandchildren, Bentley Rose, Bowen Burgett, Griffin Burgett; and a host of nieces & nephews.

The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Daniel Welborn and Bro. Zach Smith officiating the service.  The burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.  The pallbearers will be Zach Smith, Scott Daniel, Jimmy Murphree, Justin Rose, and Ben Jennings.
