Henry C. Whiteside departed from his earthly pilgrimage and moved on to the next life from NMMC in Tupelo after a period of declining health. Mr. Whiteside was born Nov. 29, 1950 to Lucian Whiteside and Maudine Nichols Whiteside in Tupelo. A lifelong Lee Countian, Henry was a self employed mechanic and most enjoyed working on older cars. In his earlier days, he enjoyed fishing but his greatest pleasure was fixing automobiles that needed repair.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 11 AM Friday, August 16, 2024 in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Kenneth Miller delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Dorsey. Visitation will be from 4PM-6PM Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Holland-Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be serving their friends. Henry is survived by 3 daughters, Peggy Cayson, Jackie Whiteside, and Shea Cayson, all of the Tupelo area; his siblings, Lizzie Whiteside who was his caretaker, Minnie Tucker, Lawrence Whiteside, Joe Nathan Whiteside, and Willie Whiteside; several grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and all their families. He was preceded in death by his parents.
