Helga Christine Cain Ogle passed away at 89 on December 1, 2023. She was born in Berlin, Germany to Rudolph and Hedwig Cain, where she resided with her brother Günter until she left Germany in 1957 to start a new life in America.
Her husband, AC Ogle, was a decorated US Army veteran of two wars who passed away in 2005. They spent most of his military time living and traveling across the US and Germany until AC retired near his hometown of Albertville, Alabama. One of the biggest and most memorable days of her life was when she became an American citizen in 1968.
Helga had 4 children, Rita Raines of Las Vegas, Nevada, Donald Raines (Diedri) of New Albany, Ohio, Karin Ogle of Huntsville, Alabama and William Ogle (Stefanie) of Guntersville, Alabama. Helga had two grandchildren, Kristin Meyer(Joe) and Tre’ Ogle (Jamie). Her family was completed with two great-grandchildren, Tyson and Ian Partee.
Helga loved games – any games, whether it was card games or board games with family or trivia. Or just yelling the answers to Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune at the TV. She had the consummate green thumb, and her house and yard were filled with all types of plants and flowers.
She was a friend to all animals, big and small, and especially loved her cats. She loved to sit outside every day and feed all the neighborhood critters and birds. She even had squirrels and birds come right to her hands and arms to feed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Guntersville Animal Shelter in Guntersville, Alabama.
Services will be private for the family.
