Helen Ruth Buchanan BakerHelen Ruth Buchanan Baker, 94, of Tishomingo, Mississippi, died on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Tishomingo Community Living Center. She was born on January 6, 1930, to Auston and Lila Page. Helen was a wonderful caretaker to her late husband and to her grandkids. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and loved cooking a big Sunday meal for her family to enjoy after church. In her younger years, she was a star on the basketball court and could take on anyone. She is survived by her present husband of 30 years, Bobby Baker; her two sons, Joseph R. Buchanan, Jr. (Brenda) and Van R. Buchanan; her grandchildren, Amanda Pryce-Jones (David), Debbie Jo Buchanan, Randy Buchanan, and Andrea Buchanan; her great-grandchildren, Cory Buchanan, Tiffany Pryce-Jones, Jonathan Buchanan (Caitlin), Austin Pryce-Jones, Brianna Thompson, Carson Mayhall, Bryson Pryce-Jones, Jaxson Pryce-Jones, Greenlee Buchanan, and Eli Buchanan; and her great-great-grandchildren, Charlee Buchanan, Bentlee Buchanan, Hadlee Buchanan, and Greyson Dengler. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joseph R. Buchanan, Sr.; her parents, Auston and Lila Page; her siblings, Harold Page, Virginia Rose Riddle, and Billy Jean Page; and her special grandson, Timothy Robert “Tim” Buchanan. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Ray Osborn. Pallbearers include Randy Buchanan, David Pryce-Jones, Carson Mayhall, Bryson Pryce-Jones, Jaxson Pryce-Jones, and Eli Buchanan. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in remembrance of Helen to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of her great-grandson, Bryson Pryce-Jones.
