Helen Marie Trader Lewis, 90, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday, August 4. Helen was born in Birmingham and graduated from West End High School in 1950. After a brief time at Auburn University, she returned home to Birmingham where she met and married the love of her life, Tommy, in 1952.

Above all, Helen loved spending time with her family and friends. She and Tommy spent lots of time together after retirement in two of their favorite spots, Tuscaloosa and Perdido Key, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Tommy Lewis. Survivors include her children, Kathy Lewis McCool (Eddie) of Huntsville, David Lewis (Kim) of Fairhope, and Scott Lewis of Huntsville; grandchildren, Robert Lewis (Tiffany), Joey Nees (Jennifer), Callie Tubb (Stuart) and Brandon Lewis; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, August 8th at First United Methodist Church. The funeral will follow at the church with the Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
