Helen Lantz Oswald passed away peaceful at 93 on October 30 after a long battle with dementia. She is
preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Edward, her parents, Ralph and Mathilda Lantz, her
brothers Ralph and Wesley, and her sister, Edna. Helen was the last of her generation on both sides of
the family.
Helen is survived by her children Diane (James), Sharon, Robert (Michelle), two grandsons sons,
Benjamin and Aaron (Clara), her beloved Shi Tzu, Tucker, as well as many special nieces and nephews.
The family is also eternally grateful to her wonderful sitters over the years, Virginia, Shuntannia, Katina,
and Suzie, as well as the caregivers at the Goldton at Adalaide.
A short memorial service will be held Sunday, November 3, at 2 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the
Resurrection in Starkville, MS, with internment at a later date at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in
Birmingham, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s
Association (ww.alz.org) or the Tucker Oswald Examination Room at the Mississippi State University
