Helen June Whittaker Manriquez

Helen June Whittaker Manriquez was born on May 28, 1952, in Seiad Valley, California, the daughter of the late William David Whittaker and Barbara Jean Seagoe Fields.

On December 30, 2000, she was united in marriage to Gilbert Manriquez, who preceded her in death on February 28, 2017.

Helen worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 22 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, hunting, and crocheting. Playing pool was also a favorite hobby of hers, where she was known as a “Pool Shark”. Helen was proud of her Native American heritage, and was a member of the Karuk Tribe of California.

Helen is survived by her children; Barbara Brunette-Croy of Wreka, California, Tyna M. Brunette of Savannah, Tennessee, Karie Brunette of Mountain Home, Arkansas, James Winkler of Savannah, Tennessee, and Tammy Winkler of Savannah, Tennessee; brothers, Earnie Whittaker of Grants Pass, Oregon, David Whittaker, and Michael Fields, both of Oregon; 19 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her sisters, Pauline Fields and Diana Fries.
