Helen Jones, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday. Helen was born in Winder, Georgia. She worked for Norfolk Southern Railway and was a homemaker for many years. She was an avid cook and seamstress, and was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ray, and her brother, Sam. She is survived by her children, Eva Mears (Rick) and Darrell Jones (Tammy); six grandchildren; sisters, Sarah Davis (Richard) and Peggy Simmons; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. with visitation one hour before at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Jackson officiating. Burial service will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
