A Memorial Funeral service for Helen J. Johnson, 78, will be Monday, October 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gordon Wilbanks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Monday, October 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson died on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at her residence. She was born June 10, 1946, in Morgan County, to Rev. Walter S. Wright and Mary Jane Garrison Wright.
She was employed as a Cafeteria Worker for Hartselle Junior High School, prior to her retirement, and was a homemaker for her family. She was a pastor’s loving and devoted wife and a member of the Hartselle Holy Church of Christ, where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was also a singer and songwriter. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Johnson was an Auxiliary member the DAV Chapter 11, Decatur, Alabama, the American Legion Post 15 in Decatur, and the VFW 4190 in Decatur.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her son: Charlie Lamb, her sisters: Barbara Norwood and Martha R. Dyer, and brothers: Virgil Wright and Rev. Jessie Wright.
