Helen Geneva Coalson Pinion – Obituary

Helen Geneva Coalson Pinion, 87, Russellville (formerly of Phil Campbell), passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Burns Nursing Home.

Mrs. Pinion was a charter member of the Phil Campbell Study Club and served on the Franklin County Board of Registrars for 16 years. She was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church in Phil Campbell where she played the organ, the piano and also served as secretary of the church.

The visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Dr. Scott Moore and Greg Beasley will officiate the service. Burial will be at Liberty Hill Cemetery, Phil Campbell.

She is survived by her children, James Edwin Pinion and wife, Nancy Todd, Van Earl Pinion and wife, Yulia, Emily Ann Pinion McKinney and husband, Buzz; grandchildren, Jamie Ellen Pinion Tarence and husband, Zane, Marcy Anne Pinion Brown, Jonathan Curtis McKinney and wife, Kristy, Laura Ann McKinney; great-grandchildren, Mary Judson Tarence, Anne Ellison Tarence, Emma Barksdale Tarence, Silas Sellassie Brown, Jonathan Andrew McKinney, Hudson Owen McKinney, Ruth Ann McKinney; niece, Gail Coalson Estis and husband, Mike; nephew, Reese Coalson; and a host of friends; and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton Curtis Pinion; parents, Judson James and Annie Mae (Fowler) Coalson; and brother, Billy James Coalson.

The pallbearers are Bob Glasgow, Hoyt Wells, Mark Cain, Terry Benford and Mike Estis. The honorary pallbearers are Johnny Mack Morrow, Roger Taylor, Billy Wilson, Tommy Hutcheson, Jackie Nix and James Graham.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Burns Nursing Home for the love and care shown to our mother.
