Helen Elaine McMinn

Helen Elaine McMinn, 89, passed away on November 13, 2023 at The Carrington Nursing Center in Starkville, MS. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Helen was born in Mathiston, Mississippi on August 6, 1934 to the late Everett Norwood and Lee Cooper Norwood. She was married to Kenneth McMinn for 68+ years and loved spending time with him in the yard and garden. She was a member of the Betheden Homemaker’s Club and enjoyed square dancing, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shannon Kenneth McMinn; and her brothers, Glenn Norwood, Bonner Norwood, Walter Norwood, and Earl (Bill) Norwood.

She is survived by her daughter, Jenny Kilpatrick (Jimmie) of Crawford, MS; son, Mike McMinn (Cherie) of Maben, MS, and Paul McMinn (Jan) of Greensboro, NC; nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Maben, MS.
