Helen Denney Blevins, age 80 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Sewanee on December 28, 1943. Before her retirement, she had been employed at AEDC, and afterwards she continued to be a businesswoman managing her rental properties. For many years, she enjoyed helping her late husband Charles on their cattle farm. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and crafting, as well as going to the lake or mountains, and camping. Raised Southern Baptist, Helen was a member of Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed participating in church activities. She was friendly and outgoing and had a kind nature, always helping those in need. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Blevins; mother, Mary Holt; father and bonus mother, Jack and Ruby “Floyd” Denney; mother and father-in-law, Margie and Chester Limbaugh; sisters, Marie (Lee) Earp, and Pam Bowen; brothers-in-law, Lee Pinnell, and Marvin Clark; and niece, Renee Pinnell. She is survived by her son, Troy “Hog Head” (Rhonda) Blevins; granddaughter, Heather Welch; great-grandchildren, Levi Grigsby, and Lexie Grigsby; sister, Betty Pinnell; brothers, Don Denney, and Roy Denney; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 14, 2024, in the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Collet, Franklin County Mayor Chris Guess, and her son, Troy Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Garner Cemetery.
