Mrs. Heide G. Engler passed away peacefully on August 15 due to complications from surgery. She was 77 years old.
Heide was born in Germany to her parents, Dr. Kurt and Helga Kren, but grew up in her beloved Salzburg, Austria, during and after World War II. While she was growing up, Heide was very active in various social and sports activities, including her favorite activity, snow skiing.

They moved to the United States in 1960 where she and Erich were married in 1961. Heide and Erich had a wonderful marriage and had two sons, Thomas and Peter.
While her sons attended school in Huntsville, Heide became active in many school-related groups, including serving as president of both the Grissom School PTA and the Grissom High Band Parent Association. Her career culminated as a member of the front office staff at Grissom High School.
Heide also had many hobbies that included traveling, listening to classical music, crafting, sewing, knitting, and reading. She loved and adored her grandchildren, who called her Oma in honor of her Austrian heritage.
