Heather McWhorter Quinn, 42, passed away on January 9, 2025 in Mathiston, MS. She graduated from Sun Valley High School in Monroe, NC and then later from Mississippi State University, where she received a business degree and then she attended MUW in Columbus, MS in the Nursing program. She was employed through Severcorr in Columbus, MS, where she participated in the Habitat for Humanity Program. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maben. She set very high moral standards for herself and instilled these traits into her children that she so dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Wilborn McWhorter; sister, Summer Pitts; grandparents, William Coggins (Sonny) and wife Lavis Coggins, W. E. McWhorter, Jr., and wife, Hulene McWhorter.

Heather is survived by her daughters, Kierston McKayla Quinn and Khloe Madelyn Quinn; son, Knox Michael Quinn; mother, Deborah Brown; step-father, Barry Brown; niece, Skylar Pitts; and nephew, Tyler Pitts.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, January 13, 2025 from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery in Starkville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Heather’s memory to UAB Huntington’s Disease Clinic, 1720 7th Ave. S, SC 360L, Birmingham, AL 35233.
