Ms. Heather Hawkins Burgett, age 49, of Arab, AL passed away at her home on July 5, 2023. Heather was the daughter of Jean Albright Hawkins and Ray Hawkins: born in Decatur, Alabama on February 27, 1974. Heather was a resident of the Arab community and a member of the Arab First Baptist Church. She worked in retail with her present employer Bakers on Main in Guntersville. Heather was a loving and supportive mother, she loved her children passionately.
Heather leaves behind a loving family including; parents, Jean and Bill Waddell and Ray and Carol Hawkins; son, Hunter Gibbs; daughters, Baylee Gibbs Johnson (Jalen) and Virginia Kayt Burgett; brother, Nic Waddell (Alison); sisters, Ginger Butler and Amy Slaton; nieces, Olivia Waddell,, Nora Slaton, Emma Butler and nephew Jack Slaton.
Visitation and funeral services are planned for Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. The visitation will be between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Ryan Cemetery in Joppa, Morgan County, Alabama. Officiating will be Brother Eldridge Criscoe.
Pallbearers escorting Heather to her final resting place will be Dustin Russell, Dawid Van Zyl, Bryant Pinyan, James Smallwood, Jack Slaton and Darrell Speck.
