Head-On-Collison Takes Life Of 82-Year-Old Lynn Woman

DOUBLE SPRINGS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident has taken the life of a Lynn woman and sent a 17-year-old juvenile to hospital:

“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, has claimed the life of a Lynn woman.

Carolyn G. Cash, 82, was critically injured when the 2002 Kia Sportage she was driving collided head-on with the 2021 Toyota Camry driven by a 17-year-old juvenile. Cash was airlifted to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital for treatment. The teen was also injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment.

On Saturday, Oct. 11, Cash succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased while at the hospital.

The crash occurred on Alabama 195 near Winston County 32, approximately three miles north of Double Springs, in Winston County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
