HILLSBORO-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicile accident near Hillsboro that has taken the life of one person and sent another to hospital:
“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, December 25, has claimed the life of a Hillsboro man.
Kaelin M. Simpson, 28, was fatally injured when the 2004 Honda Accord he was driving collided head-on with the 2002 Lexus LX470 driven by Ziyad M. Al-Dabashi, 44, of Decatur. Simpson was pronounced deceased at the scene. Al-Dabashi was injured and air lifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. Neither Simpson nor Al-Dabashi were using seat belts at the time of the crash.
The crash occurred on Alabama 20 near Lawrence County 434, approximately one mile north of Hillsboro, in Lawrence County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
