Head-On-Collision In Franklin County Leaves One Dead And Two Injured

PHIL CAMPBELL-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident in Franklin County has taken the life of one person and sent two others to hospital with injuries:

“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:55 p.m. Thursday, October 31, has claimed the life of a Phil Campbell man.

Kenny R. Petty, 68, was fatally injured when the 1992 Ford F-150 he was driving collided head-on with the 2022 Ram 2500 driven by Larry Davis, 63, of Pike Road. After the initial collision, the Ford left the roadway, overturned and then struck a tree. The Dodge also left the roadway and struck a tree.

Petty was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was partially ejected. Petty was pronounced deceased at the scene. Davis and a passenger in the Ram 2500, Ronald K. Rollins, 57, of Montgomery, were both injured and transported to Russellville Hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred on Alabama 243 near the 11 mile marker, approximately three miles east of Phil Campbell, in Franklin County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
