Hazel Spicer Puckett, age 96, of Huntsville, Alabama died 15 October 2022 in the care of her loving family and Hospice Family Care. She is survived by her children, Nelda Garcia, and Arnold Puckett, Jr (Diane), 7 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, as well as 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold A. Puckett, her parents, Elbert and Irene Spicer; her brothers, Joe D Spicer, Theodore Spicer, JT Spicer, and Esley Thomas Spicer, who died as an infant, and her half sister, Marie Penny.

Hazel was a Christian and member of Whitesburg Baptist Church, a wife, mother, and good friend to many. She was raised on the banks of Reelfoot Lake and married at an early age to a military man serving in the US Air Force. She lived in many areas of the world and across the United States. While in Germany, she served as a volunteer Grey Lady with the Red Cross. Because of her loving and caring spirit, she was called to work in various Child Care facilities and these experiences culminated into a position of Director of Mother’s Morning Out and Infant Care at Whitesburg Baptist Church until her retirement.

Family and friends may gather in the Chapel of Love at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Road, Huntsville, Alabama, 35811, beginning at noon on Wednesday, 19 October, with a graveside service immediately following at 1:00 at Valhalla Memory Gardens, Huntsville, AL
