Hazel Pugh Franks – Obituary

Hazel Pugh Franks, 84, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016, at The Meadows. She was born November 21, 1931, to John Felix and Essie White Pugh. She was a member of Mt. Hebron Methodist Church. She retired from Mantachie Manufacturing and was an avid cook. She enjoyed being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 15, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Castor Buse officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Johnny Odell Franks (Nellie) of Mantachie; two brothers, James Roland Pugh (Marlene) and John E. Pugh (Dorothy), both of Birmingham, Alabama; three grandchildren, Rodney Franks (Leigh Ann), Chris Franks (Heather), both of Mantachie, and Atesa Gardner (Adam) of Tupelo; six great-grandchildren, Laken Franks, John Weston Franks, Alayna Gardner, Nelia Gardner, Ivy Franks, and Payton Snow.

He was preceded in death by her husband, James Odell Franks; her parents; two sisters, Ora Lee Pugh and Pauline Pugh King; and two brothers, George Earnest Pugh and Clyde Pugh.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 14, at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of The Meadows.
