Hazel Lovell Whitehead Moxley 83, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Paden, MS to Lon Marcus Whitehead and Sara Hester Georgia Luceneie Frost Whitehead. She worked in garment manufacturing for many years and was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 18, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Hayward Burcham officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bobby Junior Moxley; brother, James Harold Whitehead (Bonnie); daughters, Rita Hardin (Gary), Janette Borden (Bobby) and Samantha Johnsey; grandchildren, Angelia Morrell (Justin), Alicia Durham (Bubba), Miranda Cole and Selena Armstrong (Joshua) and great-grandchildren, Megan, Cole and Piper Durham, Xander, Aligah and Kate Morrell, Eli, Noah and Obi Armstrong and Dominic Alexander.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathy Moxley; grandson, Cody Lee Roberts and siblings, Carlie Agnes Whitehead Dingler Cadle, Mary Magalene Whitehead Hood, Alonzo Marcus Whitehead, Jr., Opal Jane Whitehead Isabel, L.B. Whitehead, Maxwell Ray Whitehead and J.L. Whitehead.
Pallbearers will be Cole Durham, Xander Morrell, Joshua Armstrong, Bob Borden and Gary Hardin.
Visitation will be Monday, December 18, 1-2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
