Hattie was born on July 12, 1944 in Barberton, Ohio and she lived a significant portion of her life in Ohio before moving to Sweet Home Alabama where she lived a full and blessed life until September 30, 2024. She celebrated her 80th birthday just 2 short months ago and frequently expressed that she did not ever think she would make it to 80. She was a kind, compassionate, endearing, loving human being who did not meet a person that did not fall in love with her. Each of the beautiful members of her care team at UAB made a point to come and express their condolences when she passed. As were all others fortunate enough to meet her, they fell in love with her in just a few short days.

She spent her days completing word searches, building puzzles, watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, the Voice (she loved her newfound friend Snoop Dogg) and making those around her happy. Sitting on the front porch rocking while reading was a favorite daily activity shared with her housemate and dear friend, Nancy Thomas. They were truly as thick as thieves and did not do much without one another.

She was preceded in death by Wayne Hutchison, her beloved husband of over 20 years, her mother, Lucille Woods and her grandson, Michael Hutchison. She is survived by two sons, Jeff (Erin) and Jason and a daughter, Jennifer (Natlie), a sister, Marty (Chuck) and brother, Bill (Lucy) and her daily companion and dearest friend, Nancy Thomas. In addition, her surviving grandchildren include Ashley, Nikki and Sebastian.

We were all so very lucky to have her in our lives and our grief will go on until we get to see her again someday. We will hold a Celebration of Life later in 2024 to reminisce and share our beautiful memories of our dearest, Hattie. She would never forgive us if we did not close this out with a ROLL TIDE!!!!
