Harvey Ballard age 89, of Huntsville passed away Sunday Sept. 29, 2024, at Floyd E. “Tut” Fann VA Home in Huntsville. Harvey was born in North Carolina on March 2, 1935, the son of Clyde Alexander Ballard and Bertha Liles Ballard. He was retired after a long career in the military. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Wood Ballard who passed away on May 29, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his son, Perry Lynn Ballard and grandson, Joshua DeMent.
Survivors include his daughters: Beverly (Lynn) Thomason, Carolyn (Charles) Bastian, Deborah DeMent and Patricia Lorenzen; brother: Curtis Ballard; grandchildren: Traci Wright, Jonathan Griffin, Dustin DeMent, Elizabeth DeMent, Misty StAmour, Harvey DeMent, Jessica Thomason and Marisa Culwell; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Thursday Oct. 3, 2024, at 2 PM at Shady Grove Cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
