Hartselle Police Make Arrest In Multiple Thefts From Local Retail Establishments

HARTSELLE-The Hartselle Police Department issued a statement concerning a rash of retail thefts in their jurisdiction which resulted in the arrest of one suspect:

“On July 8, 2024, Investigator McClure arrested Gabrielle Renae Massey, age 25, of Falkville, AL., for Organized Retail Theft.

Inv. McClure received report of multiple thefts that occurred at a Hartselle retail business. During the investigation it was discovered the suspects involved worked together for several months targeting the retail business and organized numerous thefts.
Evidence revealed that the suspects selected merchandise on several instances that exceeded $1,000, and would leave the business without making payment of the items. The collaborative effort between law enforcement and the private sector provided substantial evidence that the operation was organized and the suspects conspired together in committing these crimes. All suspects involved within the organization with Massey were identified and arrest warrants were obtained for, Organized Retail Theft.
Inv. McClure executed the arrest warrant for Massey and she was booked into the Morgan County Jail, with a $5,000 bond.
The above listed defendant should be considered innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.”
