Harriet Hix Linhoss, 64, passed away at her home on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, after a 20 month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
She was born November 2, 1952 in Memphis, TN to Harris Emerson and Nanella Cothron Hix. She attended Memphis East High School and received her B.S. in Nursing from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where she graduated number one in her class. On May 19, 1979, she married Cecil Craig Linhoss and together they had two sons.
Harriet worked her entire career as a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, gardening, and antiques. She especially loved meeting with her friends at book club. She was a member of First United Method Church of Florence.
She is survived by her husband, Craig; sons, Sam Linhoss and wife, Leigh, of Chattanooga, TN, and John Linhoss and wife, Anna, of Starkville, MS; and four grandchildren, Max, Larkin, Luke, and Cedar Rose.
The family would like to thank Dr. Harry Erba and the 7th floor hematology staff at UAB; Dr. Lyman Mitchell and Pam Hill of Mitchell Internal Medicine; physicians and staff at the Northwest Alabama Cancer Center; and Janet Melton and Bobbie Woods of Good Samaritan Hospice of Madison, AL.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Monday, October 30, at Greenview Funeral Home. Services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. A grave side service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, in Whitley Cemetery, Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee.
