Harold Wayne Posey, age 69, of Leighton, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. Visitation will be Friday, 12-2 P.M. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, Alabama. His funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Mark Mayfield and Andy Burden officiating. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Posey was a Colbert County native and a member of Abbie Baptist Church. He was a member of Town Creek Masonic Lodge, a Master Mason, member of the Scottish Rite and the Order of the Eastern Star.
He is preceded in death by his parents Leo Franklin and Oma Ann Posey, brother, Charles Ray Posey, and mother and father in law Thomas and Lela Belle Burden.
He is survived by his wife Methel Burden Posey, son Brandon Posey (Audra) of Leighton, daughter Yana Hardin (Tony) of Florence, brother Thomas “Buddy” Posey of Leighton, sister Barbara Norwood of Courtland, grand children Skylar Posey, Cole Hardin, Braedon Posey, Bryant Hardin, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Pallbearers are Greg Posey, Tommy Posey, Joseph Burden, Tommy Burden, Dusty Burden, and Jarrod Russell.
Honorary pallbearers are nephews Steve Burden, Andy Burden, Stoney Burden, Devin Burden, Stacy Burden and Jonathan Handley.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Shoals Hospital for their excellent care.
