Funeral services for Mr. Harold Rushing, age 85 are scheduled for 2:00pm Tuesday April 2, 2024, at Palestine Presbyterian Church with burial and Masonic service to follow in Palestine Cemetery. Mr. Rushing passed away Saturday morning at his home. He was an Elder at Palestine Presbyterian Church. He was in construction work before becoming assistant fire chief of Henderson County Volunteer Fire Department where he stayed for 20 years. For over the past 10 years he has been working for Beech River Watershed in Lexington and planning on another year this year. Mr. Rushing was born November 6, 1938, in Henderson County, Tn. to the late Casey Hooper and Callie “Pauline” Robbins Rushing. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mrs. Mary Lou Rushing and step son- Jim Burroughs; Survivors include wife- Mrs. Linda Rushing, two daughters- Daphne Rushing Rush and Shawnda Cook (John Cain), stepson- John Burroughs and stepdaughter in law- Shreen Burroughs, one brother- Joe Rushing (Glenda), 4 grandchildren- Hunter Lindsey (Ashley), Celtic Rush (Brittney), Cace Cook and Chloe Cook, 2 step grandchildren- Kimberly Chico and Candice Burroughs, 3 great grandchildren- Addie Rush, Tegan Lindsey and Cady Lou Rush and 1 step great grandchild- Logan Elmore.
