Mr. Harold Ray Smith of Arab, Alabama; passed away in the later hours of Monday, August 8, 2020 at his residence at the age of 80 years.
Mr. Smith was born on December 2, 1939 to the late John Earl Smith and Mary Vernis Jones Smith in Morgan County, Alabama. He completed high school and achieved his associates degree, allowing him to pursue a career in logistics at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. He enjoyed playing golf, working at the arsenal for 35 years and spending time with his grandchildren, he was a family oriented man. He was a member of the Hebron Church of Christ in Joppa, Alabama
Mr. Smith will foever be remembered by his beloved wife of 60 years; Linda Smith; son, Keith Smith (Janette); daughter, Donna Smith; brothers, Clark Joes Smith and Jerry Smith; grandchildren, Emily Smith, Allison Smith and Alexis Rogers (Jessie); as well as a host of nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents; Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his brother; Donald Smith and sister; Patsy Smith.
A visitation will be held at the Hebron Church of Christ on Thursday – August 13 2020 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Funeral services will also be held on Thursday – August 13, 2020 at the Hebron Church of Christ starting at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery with Minister Brock Johnson, officiating.
Pallbearers escorting Mr. Smith to his final resting place will include: Earnest McGee, Dennis Latham, Norman Roberts, Glen Click, Robert Whisenant and Danny Hayes.
Honorary Pallbearers will include: Matthew Light, Lowell Hayes, Robert Deese, Johnnie Pierce and L.B. White.
