Harold (Peter) Wayne Collins, age 87, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, died Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Alive Hospice Murfreesboro.
He was born March 9, 1936, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, to the late Vollie and Era Roberts Collins. He was an Insurance Inspector for the State and a member of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and proudly served in the Navy for 30 years. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his love for the Navy with others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris Zukiwsky Collins; one brother, Tilden Collins; three sisters, AnnieRuth Chapman, Lillian Wakefield and Helen Gattis.
He is survived by one son, Steven Collins of Murfreesboro; two daughters, Mary (Michael) Jenkins and Catherine (Jeffrey) Gillespie of Murfreesboro; daughter-in-law, Angela Gannon, Murfreesboro; three grandchildren, Azura Collins, Elyjah Jenkins and Zoe Gillespie all of Murfreesboro; sister, Sallie Tingle, Lewisburg; nephews Mike Collins and Collins (Anna) Chapman both of Lewisburg; nieces, Jenny Collins, Lewisburg and Neva Gattis, Murfreesboro..
Graveside Service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 10:00 am at Lone Oak Cemetery, Lewisburg, Tennessee, with burial to follow at Lone Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro or Rutherford County Cat Rescue.
