Harold Odis Stanfield, age 67, of Florence, departed this life Thursday, May 30, 2013, after an extended illness. Harold was a member of the Petersville Church of Christ. He was owner of Stanfield’s One Stop in Sheffield for 25 years before retiring for health reasons. He was a hard worker and always had a project that he was working on.
Visitation will be this evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Petersville Church of Christ, with burial to follow at Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating at the service will be Sonny Owens. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service.
Harold was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Michelle Stanfield House; father, Harace E. Stanfield; mother, Goldie Lamb Stanfield Lavoie; and sister, Gertrude Stanfield Smith.
Harold leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Nancy Holt Stanfield; two sons, Michael Harold Stanfield (Amy) and Stacy Shawn Stanfield (Stephanie), both of Florence; eight grandchildren, whom he adored, Michael Harold Stanfield II, Jacob Daniel Stanfield, Ashley Michelle House, Hailey Ann House, Tyler Michael House, Kylee Brooke House, Kaylee Grace Stanfield and Riley Gail Stanfield; one great-grandson, Caden Daniel Stanfield; four sisters, Jo Ann Holt, Florence, Jane Joiner, Florence, Elizabeth Cunningham, Tillamoak, Oregon, and Doris Benson, Forrest Grove, Oregon; three brothers, Harace E. Stanfield Jr., Delbert Stanfield and John Lamb Stanfield; a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Rob Joiner, Keith Joiner, Brian Wisdom, Todd Holt, Chase Holt and David Rhodes.
Harold was so proud of his grandchildren and little great-grandson and loved to talk about them to his friends. He especially loved to watch them play ball and cheerlead. He loved to fish and boat with his two sons.
