Mr. Harold Lloyd Barnard, age 92, of Arab, Alabama passed away Thursday, March, 28, 2024 at his residence. Harold was born in Marshall County, Alabama, January 30, 1932 the son of Tolbert Woodville Barnard and Jennie Elizabeth Allen Barnard. He was married to Sybil Ann Callahan Barnard who preceded him in death. Harold was a resident of Arab for the majority of his life. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Brindlee Mountain Baptist Church. He held a Bachelors Degree and worked and retired from Redstone Arsenal where he was employed as a Technical Publication Writer. He was also a US Army veteran and served his country near the end of the Korean conflict. Harold was a member of the Arab Masonic Lodge #663.
Harold was a great family man. He loved each and every family member immensely, especially the grand and great grandchildren. He thoroughly enjoyed going out to eat with extended family. He spent his leisure time either golfing, bird watching (especially hummingbirds), and maintaining his yard and lawn.
Harold leaves behind a loving family to cherish their memories. Family members include: daughters, Sheila Crawford (Steve), and Vickie Green (Ted); brother, Travis Barnard; grandchildren, Daniel Green, Lindsey Green Hanvey, Amber Starr, Kyle Crawford, Halley Starr; and 5 great grandchildren.
Family preceding Harold in death include; wife, Sybil Barnard; parents, Tolbert and Jennie Barnard; step son, Ken Starr; brothers, Bereford Barnard and Marlin Barnard; sisters, Bonny Phillips and Wanda Edmondson; grandsons, Cass Crawford and Jeremy Green.
Services are planned for Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Brother Mike Douglas will be officiating. Burial will be in the Arab Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers escorting Harold to his final resting place will be Stephen Crawford, Daniel Green, Kyle Crawford, Bo Hanvey, Noah West and Patrick Crawford.
