Harold Lee Dodson, age 83 of Decherd, passed away on July 20, 2024, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems in Winchester. He was born in Franklin County on October 27, 1940, to the late Robert Dodson and Janie Patterson. Harold worked as a dry wall finisher for almost sixty years. He loved playing music, especially piano, the fiddle, and could play the guitar and the harmonica simultaneously. Harold also sang on a radio broadcast every Sunday called “A Singing Ministry.” He loved to “cut up” with people, always making them smile, and liked to do things his own way. Harold was a member of the New Beginnings Outreach Church in Decherd. In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his sisters, Juanita Rowlett, Leona Thomas, Mary Ruth Williams, and Mittie Harper. He is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Martha Dodson; children, Harold Dodson, Trina Dodson, Theodore Dodson; sisters, Naomi Williams, Ocie Garner; brother, Danny Dodson; seven grandchildren; special friend, Tommy Penny; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 5pm-8pm, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 1pm, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Chaney officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
